     Wood
Desk Chairs
There are
several categories of wood desk chairs. The first category
is one in which we all are extremely familiar – the
traditional wood desk chairs we virtually grew up in – the
school chair.
Another
well-known category is the Banker’s Chair. These wood desk
chairs are classic and appealing in appearance. And while
they remind one of the banker’s and even town sheriff’s
chair’s in the old west – most of these (modern-day) type
wood desk chairs are outfitted with height adjustment and
gas lift systems for far greater comfort and functionality
than their older look-alike predecessors.
And there
are several other wood desk chair styles from the Copenhagen
to the Patriot Swivel wood desk chair – a chair one could
easily imagine Benjamin Franklin or George Washington seated
in 200 some years ago – to a variety of “Windsor” Swivel
Chairs.
If you
happen to be looking for a smart looking and sturdy school
room wood desk chair then Jonti-Craft’s Ladder Back Chairs
might very well fit the bill. These inexpensive yet charming
chairs are entry level, traditional wood desk chairs for
school children. The ladder-back design is crafted with your
child’s safety in mind and the look is just plain
old-fashioned natural wood grain. These chairs can be
purchased online for well under $50 a piece.
Sam’s club,
by the way, offers a larger more fashionable wooden desk
chair (in the school chair style) for around $70. This chair
has a darker finish than a traditional school chair and
would be well suited for library or den use. It also has
metal-to-metal hardware instead of wood screws or glue for
extra durability.
The Boss
Office Products Banker's Chair in Wood Finish with Leather
Cushion - comes in an attractive fruitwood finish and
a reasonable (sale) price of $127.79. These wood desk
chairs are available from Sears.
OneWayFurniture.com offers several of the
traditional styles I have noted above. The Copenhagen Style,
several Windsor types, the Banker’s Chair style and the
Patriot Swivel Chair all come in (unfinished) whitewood. So
if you don’t mind doing a little painting or shellacking –
you can pretty much transform these well-made classic wood
desk chairs into any color, shade or finish you desire.
These chairs all come with castors, height adjusters and gas
lifts for state-of-the-art comfort and
functionality.
In any event
– I hope I have given you some helpful advice regarding the
choosing of a wood desk chair. Remember – these chairs are
constructed for long life, functionality, traditional beauty
and a high degree of comfort. Yet they are also heavier, not
as modern looking and sometimes not quite so comfortable as
other varieties of office chairs.
